If Al Gore can say it...

Al Gore said he supports the freedom to marry for LGBT couples. Everyone's listening. And when you say you support the freedom to marry, people who love you listen too.

Just say it by signing our open letter to Governor Schwarzenegger at
www.LetCaliforniaRing.org/justsayit and ask your friends and family to do the same.

Thank you Al for leading the way. I am American, but my partner is Australian. We are not able to live in America. If the laws changed we could!

Thanks Again.

Thanks Al!

Now if only more than ONE Presidential candidate would agree! [I believe that Dennis Kucinich is the only one].

Sadly, I may soon be in the same situation as previous poster regarding having to leave the United States, my native country, to remain with my partner.

It really is that simple. Hopefully this will help more people to just stop and think about it for a minute: If they believe marriage is a good thing for society, then why are they trying to stop some people from doing it? It just doesn't make any sense.

Dear Mr. Gore,

I wish I could give you a hug right now! Thank you for speaking out for equality and justice for the gay community.

We celebrated the weddings of 3 of our 4 children in the last two years. What joy to see them marry their beloved ones!

Their gay brother, Jake, was best man at each wedding ... even our daughter's ...as she had Jake stand by her instead of having a woman. They all love him very much.

In the midst of the joy of each wedding, I cried knowing Jake can not do what each of his siblings can do. That is wrong and the injustice must be made right.

May your stand for marriage lead the way to equality for all.

Thank you Mr Gore! We need to have a few more politicians be brave enough to take this stance. I wish YOU had been open to saying this when you were an active candidate for president. I think the so called "Christian right" scares politicians into taking a non-committal stance on this issue.

Thank you Al Gore...I'm in the same situation as the other posters here. I am leaving my home to be with the one I love. I really wish for the sake of thousands of gays and lesbians that this country changes. No one should be treated as a second class citizen. No one should have to choose between their country or their partner. Everyone deserves to have equal rights.

Promiscutiy is not the issue-- love is the issue.
The discourse needs to be re-oriented and focused.
I don't feel like I could legislate anyone else's relationship-- and I really feel weird about the Bible
or any other text I consider strong-- used out of context. Time has come for people to actually study the things they are willing to quote and levy against others in a hurtful way. And that way can open up--
There doesn't need to be a judgemental attitude running around and claiming it is from the 'Bible'--
that is not the way, shape or form or intent of the Bible and (at least most of it's storytelling) constituents.
Al Gore's message from the beginning was one of understanding. Why why why are we so limited as human beings that we have to relegate ourselves to
things that hold us back, that ignore the giant
progress that has happened, and the huge work
ahead that we need do?

Dear Mr. Gore,
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! for being the man that you are...willing to stand up for what you believe even when you know you will take heat. Knowing that it is just not right for some to have priveledges that others don't. As a straight mother of 2 married 13 years, I am outraged that many of my gay friends do not share the same rights. I will proudly wear my Let Freedom Ring-ring and when asked what it stands for I will gladly answer, the right for ALL of my friends to be married. Thank you so much again for being such a great American...now give Obama a little help as his VP...I know you are president material...but I also know that you love your country and would do whatever it took to make this nation strong, cohesive, and fair again!
My deepest regards,
AW
